HUMAN CAPITAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL SUCCESS: AN EMPIRICAL INVESTIGATION IN POST- GRADUATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN INDIA

Abstract

In the present context, human resource is recognized as one of the capitals in the organizations. Beginning in the early 1960s, increasing attention was paid to enhance the quality of labour, particularly the level of education and training in the work force. This gave the rise to the context of human capital embodying skills and other attributes of individuals, who confer a range of personal, economic and social benefits. This research paper is the modest attempt to scrutinize how human capital use by the educational organization for its success. The prime objective of this research is to analyze the human capital towards the success of the organization. The researchers adopted the survey method as their research methodology. One the tertiary educational institution in India was selected as the research site. The structured questionnaire has been used as a main method of collecting the data. Other than the questionnaire the researchers visited to the institute and observed and used the observation techniques to rectify the data collected through questionnaire. Questionnaire was focused on three variables which are release to Human Capital: Knowledge, Skills and attribute. Further care was taken by the researchers to limit their ideas on the above three variables. It was concluded that this organization is following up good human capital management strategies in terms of planning (resourcing) strategies, human resource attribute development strategies, reward strategies and knowledge management strategies. Through these human capital management strategies organization have ensured its organizational success.
