About the Journal
The discourse on gender has garnered considerable attention in recent times, with scholars from various disciplines focusing on this topic within the context of their respective research areas. Reflecting this academic interest, the Equal Opportunity Cell of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura has launched an electronic journal on gender studies, titled ‘Pumithiri’ in 2021. This journal serves as a platform for disseminating scholarly articles authored by academics, researchers, and interest groups dedicated to gender studies.
Current Issue
'පුමිතිරි' (Pumithiri) Peer Reviewed e-Journal is an online publication that focuses on critical analysis and exploration of gender-related issues. It aims to promote interdisciplinary research on gender issues such as gender inequality, gender-based violence, gender identity, sexuality, women’s rights, and other related topics. The articles on below categories on Gender Studies have been published in 1st issue of 1st volume of the journal.
