Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of three factors (job satisfaction, alary and career opportunities) on organizational commitment of public sector employees in Pakistan. Data was collected from 111 public sector employees using self administered questionnaires consisting of standardized scales by the method of convenient sampling. Results of inferential statistical analysis indicate that job satisfaction and career opportunities are positively and significantly related to commitment of public sector employees while salary does not have a significant relationship with employee commitment. We have discussed the results and presented suggestions for organizational managers as well as directions for further studies.
