About the Journal

The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), Sri Lanka publishes the Journal of Business Research and Insights (JBRI) which is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. JBRI disseminates and shares new knowledge among academics, professionals, and other pertinent parties by publishing high-quality research papers in the areas of business, management, and relevant multidisciplinary studies. FMSC’s management journal was first published in 2002 as Vidyodaya Journal of Management Science, but it was re-launched in 2015 as Vidyodaya Journal of Management. In 2024, the Journal of Business Research and Insights (JBRI) was relaunched, recognizing the need for a more focused platform. The term "Management" had become overly broad, encompassing diverse fields such as Medical Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Allied Health Sciences, Dental Sciences, Urban and Aquatic Bioresources, and Computing Management. The relaunch aimed to provide a dedicated space for research and insights within the business domain, promoting a more targeted and specialized approach to knowledge dissemination. The FMSC is the pioneer in management education in the Sri Lankan university system and it has an eminent history of more than 65 years. The Faculty’s research involvements are a strong indication of innovation and intellectual challenge that demonstrates its leadership in management education in Sri Lanka and the region of South Asia. The JBRI provides a platform to disseminate and share new knowledge, and it encourages researchers to submit their outstanding research work in the broad areas of business, management, and relevant multidisciplinary studies.
