About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The journal of Real Estate Studies (JRES) mainly aims to publish current research findings/ book reviews/ case studies, covering all aspects of Property Management, Valuation, Planning, Environment, Economics Finance and Marketing. The journal invites on-time papers relevant to the wide scope provided below.
JRES provide a platform for academicians, researchers, practicing professionals, policy makers, and students, to disseminate their knowledge through research & publications, consultancy projects and enhance human capital through training and development in real estate and allied fields. . The journal provides open access to its content, opening a wider audience.

- Property Management, development, Building technology and construction
- Theory and practice of Property Valuation, methodological debates, sustainability and valuation, taxation and issues in compulsory property acquisition

Objectives of the Journal of Real Estate Studies
- To encourage scientific and systematic research and publications in the field of Real Estate Management and Valuation

Peer Review Process
Each submitted article will undergo a double anonymous peer review.
Publication Frequency
The journal publishes two issues and special/ supplementary issues (only for special events, if any happening in respective years) each year.
Plagiarism Policy
All articles submitted to Journal of Real Estate Studies are screened for plagiarism.
Open Access Policy
Copyright Notice
The copyright for the articles will be transferred to the Centre for Real Estate Studies, Sri Lanka, upon acceptance for publication. This transfer grants the Centre the exclusive right to reproduce and distribute the article in any form, including print, electronic media, or other formats.
The corresponding author certifies that they have the authority to make this grant and that the contribution is original. The corresponding author also accepts responsibility for submitting this material on behalf of all co-authors.
Once the signed copyright transfer agreement is submitted by the corresponding author, no changes to the authorship or the order of authors will be accepted by the Centre for Real Estate Studies, Sri Lanka.
A copy of the signed copyright transfer statement should be emailed to jres@sjp.ac.lk and/or mailed to the Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Real Estate Studies, Centre for Real Estate Studies, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. Please note that the article will only be considered for publication after the signed Copyright Transfer Statement is received.
