About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The Vidyodaya Journal of Management (VJM) is a double-blind peer-reviewed publication dedicated to the exchange of the latest academic research in the broad areas of Management and Organization Studies. The journal welcomes articles of interdisciplinary nature. It also encourages different methodologies and theoretical philosophical traditions which give new insights into the issues in Management and Organization.
The VJM provides a much-needed platform showcasing practice, policy and strategy in business and management. We seek to publish articles from any of field as long as they demonstrate how they advance management theory and/or practice. We welcome research that integrates theories and concepts from different disciplines and/or has implications for practitioners and policymakers. It aims at disseminating innovative and high-quality research articles that enhance conceptual and empirical knowledge in the broad areas of Management and Organization Studies. The journal welcomes articles of interdisciplinary nature and encourages different methodologies and theoretical-philosophical traditions which give new insights into the issues in Management and Organization. The VJM seeks to foster contributions from a range of methodological perspectives, thus we welcome qualitative and quantitative studies, mixed method research as well as theoretical review papers.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), Sri Lanka publishes the Vidyodaya Journal of Management (VJM) which is a double-blind peer reviewed journal. FMSC’s management journal was first published in 2002 as Vidyodaya Journal of Management Science, but it was re-launched in 2015 as Vidyodaya Journal of Management. The FMSC is the pioneer in management education in the Sri Lankan university system and it has an eminent history of more than 50 years. The Faculty’s research involvements are a strong indication of innovation and intellectual challenge that demonstrates its leadership in management education in Sri Lanka and in the region of South Asia.
Articles submitted to the VJM should not have been published before or be in the process of being under review in another journal. The copyright of articles, review articles and case studies published in the VJM is reserved for the VJM. However, authors can obtain permission, in advance, from the Co-editors to reprint / reproduce either the whole or a part of the paper published in the VJM.
